Leap29 are partnered with an established UK developer that are in search of an experienced Grid Engineer. The projects will be utility-scale ground-mount solar and battery storage across the UK. Our client develops, owns, and operates the assets and have all functions in-house, including, development, finance, engineering, and legal. Areas of Responsibility: Attend industry and engagement conferences and events to maintain relationships with DNOs/IDNOs/TNO/ICPs, and other relevant technology partners the business works with Monitor and report on grid connection progress and performance. Assist in preparing and submitting grid connection applications (G99 and managing the approval process Support in liaising with grid operators, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with grid connection requirements and regulations. Running electrical power system studies using PSS/E, DigSilent PowerFactory or similar power system software is a plus. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Experience of working in a similar role is essential. Degree in Engineering, preferably electrical engineering, but other disciplines accepted. Experience working on renewable energy projects (ideally solar, wind and BESS) Good understanding of P28, G59/G99, and similar ENA recommendations. Detailed knowledge of CDM, Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, site safety rules, DNO requirements, switching procedures; Comfortable initiating contact and building relationships with the DNOs, TNOs, ICPs, and other 3rd party advisors.
